A Top Note

Look what we made at Crafters Anonymous tonight with Tia. A set of drawers. How clever is this - it has two slide out drawers and the top lifts up. I bet I know who is going to grab this..... yep, my grand daughter Shyanne.

What a day...

Christchurch Regionals - all I can say is "Wow, am I pleased I went". I had a very early start as I had to be at the airport by 7am. Things were going well until I left home and my run around car decided to flash an orange light at me!! I turned round and jumped into my good car (hoping that the battery wasn't flat as I don't use it very often). Hence I was very stressed hoping I wouldn't miss plane (lucky no police around at that hour as I must admit I was speeding). I made it in time and had a brilliant flight to Christchurch.
The day was fabulous. Meeting like minded crafty people and learning so many new things was a buzz. It was also great actually meeting people that I have spoken to/met on the internet. A big "hi and hugs" to Lisa as she picked me up from the airport and let me buddy up with her group.
Swapping was a new experience for me. Gosh there are some very talented ladies out there and I got some brilliant swaps. Here are my swaps and my name tag.

I'm leaving on a jet plane.....

Only for the day - I'm off to Christchurch Regionals tomorrow morning. I'm soo excited, I'm about to lose control.... (one of my fav songs from the 70/80's) Can you tell its my first time? I only decided to go last week so I have been flat out making swaps and my name tag. Weewho they are all finished. The lovely Lisa Bullock is picking me up from the airport and its going to be wonderful to see her in person as I've only met her on the internet.
Here's a sneak peek of my swaps and tag.

All will be revealed tomorrow or Sunday in my next blog post.

Its Monday...

And you know what night that is - yes it's Crafters Anonymous Online class night. Tonight Anne Brignall guided us through the stages and look what we ended up with - a fantastic bag. It is made out of one piece of 12x12 dsp.

I haven't quite finished it as I need to get some velcro dots so that I can make a closure for it. Will also put a sentiment on at a later date.

Happy crafting.

Another Birthday Card

It was our son's mil's (who is also a friend of mine) Birthday on Wednesday so I decided to make Paula a card (CASED from Teneale Williams) out of the same papers that I had used on the Clipboard frame.
Ta dah! I had the perfect gift and card. Paula loved them and kept on saying to Alesha "I haven't seen this photo in your album - why haven't I seen it?"

Pink & Orange

Yep, its one of my favourite colour combos. I made this card for my grandys to give to their cousin Amy for her 5th Birthday. They had such a good time at the her party today. They weren't too happy when I went to pick them up - lol

Thanks for looking. Have a crafty day.

Clipboard Challenge

Ooops, I nearly forgot to do the Crafters Anonymous Sunday Challenge that Marija gave us - to decorate a clipboard with any medium. I was going to make mine into a note pad but then I found a photo of my son and his wife so I changed tack and made my clipboard into a photo frame. I really enjoyed making this as it did not take long and yet looks fab irl.

This photo always makes me laugh - it looks as though Scott is pulling Alesha out of the car but its just the way his right arm works after he had his stroke.

Bliss Birthday Card

Here's a card I have made for an online friend. I have used Very Vanilla cardstock and used the Rich Razzleberry inkpad and the flourish stamp from the Bliss stampset to make my own background.

Go The Crusaders....

Another win to the Crusaders last night in Nelson, 52-10. Weewhooo!! Because of the devastating earthquake in Christchurch on Feb 22 the Crusader Super 15 team have played two games in Nelson. Its been just awesome - even though I don't get to see the games (I'm out the back cooking hot dogs and chips).
I took my 5 year old grandson, Reuben to the game last night and all he wanted to see was the horses and Richie McCaw. Last week the team walked past us to get to their changing rooms but last night they were bused in - I was gutted. Ah well at least he saw the horses and horsemen racing around the field. He was so fascinated with them waving their swords.
After the game when we were cleaning up (all the crowd had long gone) who should walk by but RICHIE, Dan Carter, Sonny Bill Williams and Todd Blackadder. The Crusader franchise is just fantastic - so accommodating and friendly. They all stopped and let us take photos and gave Reuben hi fives. Thank you sooo much you made Reuben's night and his Nan Nans lol.

I have to get the photo of Sonny Bill off my friends phone - can't wait to see that one as he picked Reuben up and had the photo taken. All Reuben could say was "he is very tall!"

Here's hoping we get another game in Nelson soon.

Have a crafty day.

Another use for envelopes

Its Monday and you know what happens on a Monday night. Yep it's an online class at Crafters Anonymous. Tonight the class was with Julia and what a fab project she had for us. Once again we didn't know what we were making - we just get a list of supplies and then Julia took us through the steps and we ended up with an awesome mini album. Even though it is small there are approximately 9 pages to use for photos/memorabilia , etc. And to think its made out of envelopes! Here's my take on Julia's class. I decided to put a belly band around it as I will put some photos in here and the band will keep the album closed.

This is how I decorated it on the inside - very simple.
