It's been a long time between drinks....

I mean blog posts!!! Life in the past two months has been extremely busy. My every day job, the family summer weekend job, the buildup to the grand daughters birthday party, Christmas and New Year and now its the build up to our son's wedding being held at our place in two weeks... Gosh I must remember to breath lol.
Anywho getting back to crafting... I participated in a Circle Journal that we held at Crafters Anonymous. It was the first time I have ever done anything like this. There were 7 participants and we had to pick a theme for our 6 x 6 Journal, design your cover, decorate two pages and then forward it to the next person on the list.
My theme was "What's in your handbag?" It amazes me what we put into our bags... I have everything but the kitchen sink in mine whereas some ladies have the bare minimum.My rules for my Journal were that they had to decorate their pages in the colour/s of their handbags, take a pic of their bag and contents and tell me why they liked their bag and what they could not be without. It was exciting each month to receive a new Journal to decorate - some were easy and others took a bit to work out. I received mine back just before Christmas and WOW I love it!

Snap, Bang, Crack

goes the Christmas Cracker.... Gosh the kids loved singing this song at Reuben's Daycare.... Made us giggle everytime..
 Tonight over at Crafters Anonymous Kristine taught us how to make cracker... I believe it is one of Delys Cram's creations and she kindly gave Kristine permission to use it tonight. I had seen cracker tutorials before and thought "I couldn't be bothered.." but I am in love with this one. It's easy peasy and I know I will be making more (teachers gifts)

Quick Christmas Gift Bag

Last night was my turn for taking the Crafters Anonymous online class. As Christmas is fast approaching I thought I would do a gift bag. We all have people that we need to give little gifts to and it's always good to package them in a nice bag - seems to make the gift extra special!
This bag is made from a sheet of 12 x 12 DSP, a piece of 4 x 6 DSP, some sticky tape and ribbon... It only takes a few minutes to make (apart from the decorating) so when you need a quick gift bag this is certainly one that I will be using!

I am making these bags for my grand kids end of year gifts to their classmates - it is a great way to use up all of the retired DSP I have...

Christmas Wreath

A couple of weeks ago I went to a "Stamp Camp" run by my upline Jacque. We didn't stay over - I travelled to Richmond both days. About 10 ladies attended. It was a full on two days. Mind you we started two hours late due to AirNZ plane delays, etc. In saying that we completed everything all of the projects that Jacque had planned for us.
The big project was making a Christmas wreath. I had seen these made and thought "nah I wont be making one of them" but I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed making one. Lots of work on the Big Shot cutting out flowers of varying sizes and colours, glue, buttons, wrapping paper and tulle. Here's my take on Jacque's - I have a few gaps so I might put in a bit more tulle. It sure is going to look good hanging at my door this Christmas. I also found a metal wreath holder at Spotlight that has bells on it so that will save putting drawing pins into my wooden doors.

Pinterest Tuesday on Wednesday

I haven't been able to take part in Pinterest Tuesday for the past few weeks as I have been in Nelson so no time for crafting. I found this Pin the other day and thought it would be good to do. Easy and quick. Of course I didn't have the burlap/sacking so I decided to shush mine up... with what I had in my stash.
